Ouadane and Chinguetti possess the oldest and most valuable libraries in Mauritania and the Arab world, of incalculable heritage and cultural value. Some of their books ( Kitab ), older than the Quran itself, may contain secrets linking Atlantis to the Richat structure near Ouadane. Baba and Yoshef, two hustlers from Nouakchott, are commissioned to acquire wooden manuscripts that might provide information about Atlantis in order to locate archaeological remains at the Richat. The librarians are outraged at the mere possibility of someone trying to buy their cultural heritage, passed down through generations, and decide to draft a collective manifesto to prevent such situations in the future.
Meanwhile, Zaida, an expert local guide in the area, hired by foreign expeditions in search of archaeological remains and a former expeditionary of Théodore Monod, bring us closer to the mysterious structure of Richat, for many, the geological remains of Atlantis.
