STREETS OF TIRANA
Streets of Tirana is a photographic essay I created during my stay in Tirana, from December 22 to 27, 2025. During those days, I wandered the city without a fixed itinerary, from Mount Dajtit to its surroundings, letting myself be guided by the daily pulse of its streets. The images are observational photographs and adhere to the unwritten rules of street photography: public spaces, anonymous figures, and the complete absence of prior planning. However, unlike the common practice of many photographers in this genre, I don't seek to go unnoticed, either in my presence or in the use of my photographic equipment. On the contrary, I am interested in the moment when someone notices the camera and establishes a spontaneous interaction with it. This moment of mutual recognition is the core of the project. I use photography as a tool that allows me to incorporate techniques of cinematic language, which I employ to reinforce and emphasize the narrative concept of the series. The installation "Streets of Tirana" consists of an exhibition of 26 photographs and the screening of a 10-minute short film made entirely from 85 photographs. The project was presented as an installation at the Galerie Art Nomade in Barcelona and is part of the official selection of the 2026 OFF-ARLES Festival in an exhibition of 16 photographs.
